Qasimi Spring 2025 Menswear marked a pivotal moment for this London-based label with rich Middle Eastern heritage: the first live show under Creative Director Hoor Al Qasimi, who stepped into the role in 2020. Presented during the June 2024 London Fashion Week 40th anniversary, the menswear and womenswear looks presented for the Spring 2025 Menswear season combine art, sculpture, and fashion through a collaboration with artist Kambui Olujimi, inspired by his “When Monuments Fall” series.
Central to this collection from Qasimi is the concept of “spolia” – the fusion of old and new, blending historical influences with modern aesthetics. This is showcased in the juxtaposition of structural and fluid shapes. The collection’s textiles include medium-weight silk twill, sheer cotton voile, and a luxurious silk-wool blend. Olujimi’s artworks are digitally printed on fabrics, along with a marble-like pattern applied to evoke erosion and the passage of time.
Jewellery pieces by Freya Douglas Ferguson feature throughout: playful earrings and necklaces feature shapes reminiscent of underwater flora and fauna, rounding out a collection that is both deeply rooted in tradition and refreshingly contemporary.
