David Koma Pre-Fall 2023
A bit much at times, right?
Gucci Menswear AW2023
At first glance the plain blazers and trousers seemed boring, especially after Alessandro Michele’s designs, but then I realised how much I loved the colour palette, and the lack of monogram print was so so nice. I love the motorcycle vibes in the trousers, and are boiler suits coming back?
JW Anderson Menswear AW2023
Was Viktor & Rolf AW05 on the moodboard and got leaked and that’s why that show was all over my IG feed a while back? Anyway, I need the frog clogs and the bright blue boots, let’s get that out of the way. I’m not a fan of the printed t-shirts, but I never like prints where the neck connects like that, I just think it always looks off. The multiple-buckle coats are amazing, and if you wanna show that you’re a Year of the Rabbit kid, here you go.
Christopher John Rogers
Clowns, pierrots, harlequins, bright stripes and lots of volume. Ronald van der Kemp vibes. Sky-high millinery in collaboration with Piers Atkinson. There’s even (what I’m convincing myself is) a nod to an 80s/90s Erasure jumpsuit – IYKYK.
DSquared2
It’s DSquared2 doing what DSquared2 do – denim, maple leafs, caps, tartan and shearling ready for the outdoors. There’s a model who kinda looks like Elvira, just in case you miss the more goth seasons. Standouts are the black and white striped trousers and the mint fur jacket.
Givenchy
50% Paris Hilton Y2K fashion revival, 50% techno club kid glam.
