Songzio Spring 2025 Menswear sees Jay Songzio debut the brand’s first co-ed collection – Bright Star – at Paris Menswear Fashion Week, drawing inspiration from oil paintings of the North Star, symbolizing guidance and hope. The collection features 57 looks across both menswear and womenswear, encapsulating this theme of dualism from Songzio, evident in the interplay of symmetry versus asymmetry, curves against angles, and the juxtaposition of rough and delicate textures.
Opposites combine as romantic yet utilitarian post-war aesthetics are reimagined through the brand’s lens of technical tailoring and modernism. Dramatic, rounded silhouettes and exaggerated volumes create sculptural silhouettes, while layers, patchwork, and asymmetry introduce an element of disorder.
Black dominates the palette, complemented by muted shades of gray and navy, with sky blue and pink providing vibrant contrasts. Fabrics feature aquarelles and oil paintings. Contrasting materials are bold yet elegant: heavy fabrics like bonded wool, tweed, and synthetic leather are used alongside fluid silk, organza, mesh, and linen, with looks that are both still and in motion.
