GmbH Spring 2025 sees Benjamin Alexander Huseby and Serhat Isik make their debut as part of the Intervention Showcase by Reference Studio. Founded in Berlin in 2016, the brand sees the pair draw on their experiences as children of immigrants in Europe and quickly gained cult status for their ability to connect their heritage to the broader multicultural community.
The looks in the collection are intended to show strength and combat-readiness: tailored boxing-style jackets, patchwork tops, asymmetrical dresses, and boots with extra wide shafts all came down the runway in an amalgamation of sporty, preppy, and Y2K. Particularly interesting were the suits at the end of the show where the blazers’ lapels came forward as hoods over the models’ heads in what felt (to me at least) like a reference to Grace Jones.
GmbH collaborated with Axel Arigato on footwear, creating a sneaker collection in metallic silver adorned with chainmail and armoured metal, a continuation of the theme of resistance.
