The Claudia Skoda Spring 2025 collection was presented at the Tempodrom during Berlin Fashion Week. Skoda, an icon of West Berlin’s 1970s and 1980s underground scene known for her intricate knitwear – predominantly created by machine – presented a bold knitwear collection. Her designers have been worn by stars including David Bowie, with the zig-zag effects in her first two looks reminiscent of Bowie’s iconic Aladdin Sane lightning bolt makeup.

Skoda’s Kreuzberg collective, ‘Fabrikneu,’ was a vibrant hub for the music, fashion, art, film, and photography scene of the time, being compared to Vivienne Westwood and her legendary ‘SEX’ boutique that drew icons including Siouxsie Sioux and Chrissie Hynde. This latest collection by Claudia Skoda beautifully captured her legacy while pushing the boundaries of knitwear.

The Spring 2025 collection showcased extra-long sleeves, draped Lurex sweaters, tube dresses over sequin leggings, and contrasting colours and textures in wool ensembles. Standout pieces included a long-sleeved dress with an ombré effect from blood red to black, and a closing look that combined heavily textured loop stitch with delicate openwork.
