I decided to sit out London Fashion Week this year and for better or for worse that means I’m browsing some of my favourite websites for the womenswear and menswear items that I could have worn to attend the shows whose unused invites sit there in my inbox, just prodding and poking at me, urging me to start feeling FOMO. I don’t know about you, but commenting about clothes, shoes, accessories and so on in the shops is a great way to pass the time. “That dress looks terrible!” “Oh I’d love to have those shoes, they’d look great with those trousers I have!” “If only that handbag came in red…” etc. If you’re as opinionated as I am, you’ll be able to identify with this feeling of items being very strongly a fashion hit or miss. This post features twenty womenswear and menswear picks – I like to wear both womenswear and menswear and find myself running through both sections in stores to make sure I’m not missing out on any items that would look great in my wardrobe. Join me for a quick runthrough of what I believe is a fashion hit or miss this week.
There are shopping links if you’d like to buy anything yourself, and of course just because I think it’s very strongly a ‘miss’, don’t feel discouraged if you like that item. This post is just for fun, and ultimately my opinion doesn’t matter, and opinions are particular to each person. If you like it, wear it – it’s your outfit after all. I’ve always believed that you should wear what you want, regardless of the opinions of other people. If others don’t like your outfit, they are free not to look at it. Wear whatever makes you happy!
Fashion Hits – Women
1. UGG x Collina Strada
I love Collina Strada, they’re one of my favourite brands at New York Fashion Week, and this collaboration makes me genuinely want a pair of UGGs. There are plain black and pink pairs and also some thigh-high socks if these printed ones don’t take your fancy.

2. Assouline Red Wireless Headphones by Master & Dynamic
The item that inspired this post tbh. How amazing are these?

3. Maje Ipernon Striped Rhinestone Skort
I’m not tired of the mini-skirt trend that Miu Miu kicked off, are you?
Maje Ipernon Striped Rhinestone Skort
Available at Neiman Marcus
4. Chloé Bananas Shoulder Bag in Metal and Leather
The ultimate hobo bag… at an eye-watering price. I rarely ever spend more than €50 on a handbag but if I had a spare 10k lying around (I shall keep dreaming) you’d soon see me carrying this one!
Chloé Bananas Shoulder Bag in Metal and Leather
Available at Neiman Marcus
5. Saint Laurent Sheer Turtleneck Jersey Midi Dress
I’m not sure how easy it is to pull off this dress, but I’d definitely be willing to give it a try. For an affordable version with the same concept of opaque up top and sheer below, have a look at the Mango dress instead.

Fashion Hits – Men
1. Gucci Horsebit Leather Platform Loafers
This is one of the key colours for Autumn Winter 2024, and this is such a classic style. I will admit I’m a bit unsure about the metal Gucci plaque on the front of the platform but I guess nothing is 100% perfect, right?
Gucci Horsebit Leather Platform Loafers
Available at MyTheresa
2. Rick Owens Tommy Embroidered Cotton Jersey T-Shirt
I don’t know if it’s just me or if it was intentional but the shape of the print makes me think of vampire teeth. I’m in love with pretty much everything Rick Owens does and this t-shirt is no exception.

3. Asics Gel-Quantum Kinetic Special Box “Airei Edition – Birch Dark Taupe”
These are just so weird and so different, I love them.

A classic style in a key colour for Autumn Winter 2024 – puce.

This comes in both silver and gold, but gold is the natural choice here of course.

1. Jacquemus Le Chiquito Mini Denim Tote Bag
These mini bags that barely even hold your phone just beg the question: “Why?”
Jacquemus Le Chiquito Mini Denim Tote Bag

2. Acne Studios Distressed Wide-Leg Jeans
I’m ok with distressed jeans but these just look like I’ve wiped off my dirty hands on them.
Acne Studios Distressed Wide-Leg Jeans
Available at MyTheresa
3. Mango 100% Silk Wide Leg Pants
Pyjama dressing may be in style but there’s a fine line between making it work and looking like you didn’t get dressed in the morning. I think it’s the buttons and drawstring that make these trousers look too much like pyjamas.
Mango 100% Silk Wide Leg Pants
Available at Mango
4. XCVI Faulkner Crop
The Millenial in me has experienced cargo pants the first time round and just cannot accept them again, I’m sorry. Especially not this wide leg culotte version.
XCVI Faulkner Crop
Available at Zappos
5. Kendra Scott Candy Corn Short Pendant Necklace
Hallowe’en is on the way and I guess that’s what inspired this candy corn pendant necklace. I must admit that the more I look at this the more I like it though.

Fashion Misses – Men
1. Herno Knit Down Vest
I can’t be the only person out there who just hates puffer vests of all kinds, right?
Herno Knit Down Vest

2. Adidas Rivalry “Marvel – Deadpool”
Another contender for “bags too small to hold anything”, but also just… what are they doing there?
Adidas Rivalry “Marvel – Deadpool”
Available at Stadium Goods
3. G-Star Raw 3D Regular Tapered Cargo Pants
4. Domrebel Signature Graphic T-Shirt
Is the bear taking a photo of his underpants? I don’t understand.
Domrebel Signature Graphic T-Shirt
Available at Neiman Marcus
5. Giorgio Armani Wool-Blend Corduroy Tapered Pants
This is more of a personal bias I suppose, but I have always disliked corduroy. However the tapering of these pants just puts me off too.
