Nicklas Skovgaard Spring 2026 takes the designerโs signature 1980s-inflected vision and runs it through a softer, more surreal filter. Collection 11 remains rooted in the decadeโs play with volume, proportion, and material drama – the sculptural hips, flounced hems, and bold contrasts are still here – but theyโre reframed in a dream logic inspired by sleep, intimacy, and the private rituals of the bedroom.
Quilting, lace, and satin collars reference duvets and nightwear, while exaggerated silhouettes recall party dresses seen through the haze of early morning light. There are faint echoes of Duran Lantinkโs patchwork surrealism in the layering and textural juxtapositions, but they read more as passing glances than a full embrace – Skovgaardโs core language remains distinctly his own.
Itโs an evolution rather than a departure: the unapologetic glamour and oddball charm that have made him one of the most distinctive voices in Copenhagen are still intact, now tempered by a gentler, more intimate sensibility. The result is a collection that feels both familiar and newly tender – as if the Skovgaard woman stayed out all night, then slipped straight into bed without changing.
