Lovechild 1979 Spring 2025 Runway Photography

The Lovechild 1979 Spring 2025 runway show took place under the intense August sun at Copenhagen Fashion Week, set against the stately backdrop of Amalienborg, the Royal Family’s residence. This historical setting, with its four palaces encircling an octagonal courtyard that features a striking statue of Frederik V by French sculptor J.F.J. Saly, made for a great backdrop for street style shots. The King’s guard patrols the palace grounds and while their demeanor was less stern than their British counterparts, I still found myself chastised for straying too close to the stairs.

Guests lined up near the fountain, and I found my spot near the runway under the baking sun, my shoulders getting redder and redder as I’d neglected to appy sunblock that morning. Chatting with the other photographers until the show started, we all lamented the opressive heat. My over-the-knee sock trainers, initially the subject of admiration, soon became a source of regret with every passing, sticky minute.

Eventually the last few guests found their seats, there was a hush as the background music ended its droning repeat, and the rhythmic pulse of the runway music began. With a final check of my camera settings, a beautiful blend of tailoring, fluid fabrics, and openwork knitwear came down the runway as the Lovechild 1979 Spring 2025 collection unfolded.
