Acne Studios Spring 2026 Menswear seems to suggest that with each passing season, the brand drifts further from any fixed aesthetic, making it increasingly difficult to discern whether Jonny Johansson is following his own creative instincts or navigating the shifting tides of what feels current in fashion. From the Glenn Martens-esque silhouettes of Spring and Fall 2025 menswear to the Duran Lantink-like constructions in women’s Spring 2025, and the playful plasticine irreverence reminiscent of JW Anderson in Fall 2025 womenswear, the brand has been circling familiar reference points within the contemporary landscape.
There’s an undeniable stylishness to the collection – lean tailoring, proportion play, and a dose of awkward sensuality in its skin-hugging tanks and sharp boots. Yet, rather than pushing into new creative ground, it reads more like a remix of established ideas, a hypothetical cross between Miuccia Prada and Sabato De Sarno, rather than a singular Acne Studios statement.
It’s a collection full of appealing pieces – albeit with a crowded palette and denim treatments that occasionally feel at odds with the overall mood. Whether this signals a deliberate embrace of eclecticism or a lack of clear direction remains to be seen. What’s certain is that Johansson still knows how to tap into a certain fashion-aware sensibility – even if the message feels more borrowed than bold.
