In CMMN SWDN Fall 2025 – aptly titled In Between Spaces – there is an exploration of the complexities of living between cultures, shaped by the tensions and harmonies of two worlds. Designers Emma and Saif Bakir, the Swedish-Middle Eastern husband-and-wife duo behind the brand, have long operated at the intersection of Scandinavian minimalism and the rich, ornate aesthetics of the Middle East, bringing together their heritage within the designs of CMMN SWDN.
In CMMN SWDN Fall 2025 soft, neutral hues – sand, cream, and grey – laid the foundation for bold Middle Eastern-inspired prints and rich metallics, creating a striking juxtaposition. It was a balancing act of tradition and modernity, strength and vulnerability, East and West.
The silhouette was sharp, confident, and layered with meaning. Hourglass blazers with exaggerated shoulders and cinched waists framed a bold, assured woman, while elongated shirts with scarf-like collars nodded to the layers in traditional Arabic dress. Pointed collars added a bold, almost rebellious edge. Outerwear was key: oversized down jackets in fur-printed technical fabrics played with illusion.
This season also marked a milestone for CMMN SWDN – the debut of its womenswear line, which seamlessly extended the brand’s signature codes to a new audience. More than just an aesthetic statement, In Between Spaces was a poetic meditation on identity – on the beauty of being both, yet never fully one or the other.
