Danny Reinke presented his Spring 2025 collection at Berlin Fashion Week. With a theme of bittersweet love, the show was preceeded by a short animation, then a model appeared, all the spotlights focused upon her. She was wearing a bridal look, put her lipstick was dark, and she listlessly held a bouquet to one side.
A few looks later, heart-shaped bags appeared, but they were pierced by arrows and came in sombre black and gloomy grey. Dried flowers adorned the lapels of a blazer, and faces printed on fabric appeared to have been caught midway between a mocking laugh or on the verge of tears.
The show ended as it began – a beautiful floor-length gown, but this time it was blood red rather than white, and the runway lights went out so that the model took her walk in darkness.
The Spring 2025 collection from Danny Reinke feels darker than his Fall 2024 collection, and with a brooding undertone to it – the previous season had a much more dreamy and whimsical feel. I’m excited to see what’s next from the brand.
