The announcement has been made that the Pantone Color of the Year 2025 is Mocha Mousse – opinions have been quite divided with some people saying that it is the color of 💩 so does that mean 2025 is going to likewise be 💩? Personally I do like Mocha Mousse – I’m not really a fan of neutrals but I do like shades of café latte and taupe, so I’m on team “Yay” for Pantone Color of the Year 2025. But what about other 2025 color trends – we won’t be wearing just Mocha Mousse! That’s where this (rather abridged) color trend forecast comes in as I make my own predictions of color trends for 2025 by adding four other colors to make a total of five.

Spring 2025 and Pre-Fall 2025
Having gone through countless designers’ runway shows and lookbooks for Spring 2025 and now beginning to go through Pre-Fall 2025 as well, I wanted to make some color trend forecasts of my own, so I’ve added four other colors onto Mocha Mousse to have a total of five color trends for 2025. I’ve also proposed four handbag options for each color, because handbags are a great way to instantly change up a look that is otherwise made of neutral colors, and they are a great piece to invest it. Handbags give a great ‘cost-per-wear’ ratio too – I might only wear a pair of trousers five times in one season, but I’m sure to use a handbag many more times than that, making the handbag a better investment.

Color Trends for 2025
The 2025 color trends that I’m calling out, in addition to Mocha Mousse, are (in alphabetical order): Arctic Blue, Moss Green, Munsell Red, and Sangria. I’ll get Mocha Mousse out of the way first, then we can get into the other four color trends for 2025.
1. Pantone Color of the Year 2025 – Mocha Mousse
Like I mentioned, Mocha Mousse has ended up being quite a controversial choice but I guess it’s one of those colors that you either love or hate. Not quite taupe, not quite camel, it’s got a warm, peach undertone to it and would look great with other neutrals like cream and chocolate brown, possibly with a pop of color like bright Coral or munsell red (see below). Here are four handbags in a variety of price ranges if you’d like to have your own Mocha Mousse accessory.

2. 2025 Color Trends – Arctic Blue
A cold, pale color, Arctic Blue moves on from the deep blue of Spring 2024 and the Cornflower Blue of Fall 2024. It evokes an icy and refreshing feeling and is best paired with contrasting shades like black, or for an overall cool and frosty look, with similar pastels like lilac and grey.

3. 2025 Color Trends – Moss Green
Moss Green is not quite khaki but is an evolution from it into something slightly lighter but still rather muddy. There was plenty of green in 2024 – emerald shades for Spring 2024, Brat Green for ‘Brat Summer’, and Fall 2024 was the season where khaki and a military influence took over, but this military green will become toned down for 2025 into its less regimental counterpart, Moss Green.

4. 2025 Color Trends – Munsell Red
Munsell Red is a vibrant color with just enough pink undertones to keep it from being a pure red. While it’s often used sparingly or as an accent alongside other colors, some designers, like Chemena Kamali at Chloé, go all-out on this bold, saturated color with monochromatic outfits that immediately command attention.

5. 2025 Color Trends – Sangria
Sangria is the evolution of burgundy from Fall 2024. It becomes more of merlot, wine shade for 2025 and may be paired with neutrals including grey, or with lighter contrast shades, such as mint.
