IM MEN Spring 2026 Menswear staged DANCING TEXTURE at the Fondation Cartier in Paris, translating the ceramics of Shoji Kamoda into motion. Kamoda’s motifs appear literally—printed across coats, trousers, shoes, even reworked as lace—then abstracted into surfaces that pleat, quilt, and undulate.

Silhouettes are sometimess wide, at other times more close-cut. Trench coats balloon at the sleeve, wrap coats billow from the belt, but dungarees and waistcoats are slim fitting. Knit sets arrive with 3D ribbing; quilt-mapped outerwear traces topographic lines; weathered denim swells into rounded jackets and wide legs. A techwear current runs through it—utility-style belt bags, performance nylons, hoods and caps—with odd, segmented sunglasses to match.

Color tracks the kiln and the gallery: earthy glaze browns and iron reds, celadon greens, hits of Yves Klein blue, then sharp contrasts—acid green with orange, red with purple. Everything reads light on the body, but visually dense; fabrics ripple as models walk, and the choreography underscores the idea that cloth can “breathe.”

It’s an articulate, material-first statement for the brand: craft translated into contemporary menswear with scale, movement, and bite.
