Gestuz Spring 2026 – titled The Human Race and staged on Copenhagen’s Paper Island with abandoned tires stacked like sculptural pit stops – examined our collective obsession with speed and the beauty found in slowing down. It was motorsport meets modern romance, swapping the roar of engines for the swish of a floor-grazing hem.
Sanne Sehested’s line-up played with contrasts: slinky red halternecks trailed scarf-like panels, while tailored workwear silhouettes – think bomber jackets, utility suits, and wide-legged leather – carried a vintage grit. Black, brown, and oil-slick red anchored the palette, shot through with unexpected pastel yellow, blush, and sky blue.
Gestuz leaned into duality: masculine cuts softened by draped chiffons, and sensual, curve-hugging dresses grounded by sturdy boots. Even the color story shifted between dusk and dawn. And while the racing references were subtle – more champagne podium than checkered flag – the sense of motion was everywhere, from flowing skirts to swishing fringe. This was occasion dressing for the woman who knows that sometimes the real win is simply being present in the race.
