Dior Spring 2025 Haute Couture from Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri blurs the boundaries of time, inviting viewers into a dreamscape where past silhouettes and futuristic whimsy coalesce. Inspired in part by Yves Saint Laurent’s 1958 Trapèze line and Dior’s own archive, the collection plays with ideas of transformation, memory, and sartorial fantasy. The result is a parade of delicate contradictions: rigid structures that move like whispers, and romantic flourishes that evoke strength rather than fragility.
Set against a mural-painted backdrop (Maria Grazia Chiuri commissioned Indian artist Rithika Merchant to conceive the installation made up of large-scale textile panels by Karishma Swali, the Chanakya workshops and the Chanakya School of Craft), models emerged in embroidered crinolines, feathered capes, and delicately ruffled bloomers – each piece a surreal recomposition of historical references. Flowers, feathers, threads and glistening metallics stretched and swayed, creating movement and narrative with every step. Monochrome looks in black and gold anchored the fantasy with restraint, while flashes of dusty pink and an almost holographic teal brought visual interest. The overall effect was part childlike reverie, part high-art theatre – a couture moment suspended between eras, and entirely Dior.
