I wasn’t in Milan this season to see the Boglioli Spring 2027 menswear collection in person, But I was there in January for Fall 2026 Menswear – and I can definitely see this collection building out further from there, evolving and refining, introducing new concepts along the way.
First of all: Boglioli isn’t one of those brands that makes you say “Wow!” when you first see the clothes. It’s not like looking at a collection by Doublet or Walter Van Beirendonck – but then again the target market is (mostly) completely different. For someone like me who loves both those creatively chaotic collections and also these more – let’s say – conservative collections, I can get excited about both.
I grew up watching my mother sewing: items for her, for me, wedding dresses for her siblings and friends. She would always point out to me the most important things to notice regarding garment fit and finishings – stitches, buttons, zips, patterns – to ensure that it was well-made and would look its best when worn.
Boglioli is that sort of brand that gives you butterflies not for how “out-there” they can be, but for the beauty of these technical aspects, the luxuriousness of the fabrics, the richness of the colours… all things that make the wearer look put together in an effortless way. It’s formal but not boardroom, kinda like having dinner at a restaurant in Mayfair, but not the ones on Mount Street, if you know what I mean!
A few details tap into current trends: mandarin collars on shirts and blazers, neckerchiefs with a piped-look outline, a utilitarian feel with the patch pockets, and the lapel notch being moved further up towards the shoulder. Notably missing: the shawl lapels I spotted in the Fall 2026 Menswear collection and was expecting to take off – though they’re probably still building steam and won’t hit for another season or two. To be decided!
