You know that feeling when something looks simple at first, but the longer you stare, the more detail you notice? That’s exactly what’s going on in the Post Archive Faction Spring 2026 Menswear collection. Dongjun Lim’s take on minimalism isn’t about blank slates or basic silhouettes – it’s about stripping things down just enough to let the construction (well… deconstruction) do the talking.
There’s a real focus on form here. Most looks came out in quiet monochromes, and even when the styling gets complex, it never feels forced – a grungy longline grey knit hanging over jeans, and an untucked shirt hem that appears from beneath a jacket just a couple of inches shorter are the perfect amount of nonchalance. Details are tucked away – like concealed buttons – and then others are totally exposed, like raw hems on trousers and deconstructed tops that look like someone just ran them through a shredder. There are shoulders and trouser hems with cutouts leaving just strips of fabric, and a lightweight trench coat with panels of fabric left hanging in place of lapels, looking like it was sliced into haphazardly.
This shredding/cutting motif also appears in a belt with cuts that make it look almost like a fishbone; a tie has similar cutouts – but at much wider intervals – making it look almost like a palm tree frond. Clever draping on tops hung from a neckline pulled to one side, while another doubled up as a sling. Clever, but not gimmicky.
There’s also a quiet sense of wear and softness – the raw cuffs, the slightly oversized looks, the slouchy layers. A lot of looks felt undone, but in a deliberate way.
It’s minimalism but with character, deconstruction with a sense of purpose. There’s breathing space and room for movement, and a quiet sense of serenity in the muted palette.
