11th April: National Pet Day – I’M Isola Marras Resort 2020
National Pet Day began in 2006 to celebrate the companionship of pets, and remember those that have been abandoned. It encourages people to adopt from shelters. Here’s some bags that will remind you of your pets every time you use them. (Also I’ve been wanting to post this Anya Hindmarch goldfish clutch bag for ages, and I finally have the perfect opportunity!)
12th April: International Day of Human Space Flight – Coach AW2014
This date commemorates the first human space flight, which took place on 12th April 1961, flown by Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin in the Vostok 1 capsule. The above sweater by Stuart Vevers for Coach was inspired by the sweater worn by Danny Torrance in the 1980 film The Shining – there’s plenty of patterns available online if you’d like to try knitting your own.
13th April: International Plant Appreciation Day – Johanna Ortiz AW2023
The plants that represent April are the daisy and the sweet pea, so why not try planting or wearing them?
14th April: Day of Silence – Alyx SS2020
Day of Silence began in 1996, raising awareness about the effects of bullying and harassment of LGBTQ students. Those participating on the day take a day-long vow of silence as a form of non-violent protest. Here are some products you can shop that celebrate and support the Pride movement.
14th April: Look Up at the Sky Day – Balmain Resort 2021 Menswear
This day is a reminder to appreciate the sky, possibly take a hot air balloon ride to take a closer look – or just wear a scarf with a pretty print.

National Dolphin Day is dedicated to dolphins, an animal associated with the Gemini star sign. I have no idea how or why that connection was made, I’m just passing on the message.
